Barton upon Humber is a historic Market Town of about 10,000 person located upon the south bank of the Humber Estuary in North Lincolnshire. Click here to view map.

History

The town has a wealth of local character and history which can be traced back to the 10th Century AD. The town is endorsed by numerous historical character properties and street scenes which predominantly date back to the Georgian era. The town has a vast number of attractive listed buildings, the majority of which are located close to the centre of the town in the protected conservation area.

Amenities

The town provides a traditional town centre high street scheme and also provides home to two major large format supermarkets (Tesco & Lidl). Additionally the town provides a number of renowned restaurants, traditional pubs & coffee shops and a well-regarded large doctor’s surgery.

The town also benefits from having various recreational facilities, which include a cricket pitch, football pitch and leisure centre.
